Around the diamond for Friday April 23, 2021 presents a look around the major leagues for roster moves, transaction, injuries and other aspects that affect the roster for each team.  Let’s begin in the American League:

Mike Trout left the game last night after getting hit by a 93 mph pitch to the left elbow.  The Angels were trailing 7-0 at the time. Therefore, it is not known if it was a removal for precautionary purposes or whether he will need a trip to the IL A strained right hamstring has seen the Twins place first baseman Miguel Sano on the 10 day injured list and they top prospects outfielder Alex Kirilloff and infielder Nick Gordon.

The New York Yankees have announced that within the next two weeks , first baseman Luke Voit will be activated to see his first action of the season.

Friday Around the Diamond National League

The Cincinnati Reds have sent Max Schrock and Cionel Perez to their alternate site. Joc Pederson has been placed on the 10 day injured list with let wrist tendinitis by the Chicago Cubs.

The San Diego Padres have placed right-handers Dinelson Lamet and Keone Kela on the 10-day injured list. The team recalled relievers Nick Ramirez and Nabil Crismatt to take their spots on the roster. The Philadelphia Phillies have signed  infielder Greg Garcia to their alternate site  roster.

A left oblique has caused the Miami Marlins to place third baseman Brian Anderson to the 10 day injured list and recalled infielder Jose Devers and RHP Jordan Holloway.
