College Baseball Countdown- #17

College Baseball Countdown for the 2023 season continues. The season begins in about six weeks and we bring to you our picks as to the top teams in the collegiate ranks.

We find Texas Tech Red Raiders coming in at #17. Their head coach is Tim Tadlock. He is entering his tenth season in Lubbock and he has amassed a 340-172 record. The Read Raiders are part of the Big 12 conference.The Red Raiders will open their season on Friday, February 17th with a four game series against the Gonzaga Bulldogs.

Texas Tech will be looking for returning sophomore  catcher Hudson White to continue has great numbers from being named Freshman of the Year in the Big 12. Other top returnees are DH Ty Coleman (.318,8HR.59RBI), RHP Brendon Girton (3-0,4.08ERA, 18K, 7BB) and a host of others.

Newcomers include Kevin Bazzell from Dallas Bapist,1B Gavin Kash from Texas Univ., RHP Jack Washburn out of Ole Miss and INF Jake Dukart a transfer from Oregon State.

Tech will open the year with 10 consecutive home games, before traveling to Houston for the Shriners’ Children’s Hospitals Classic, where they will face Michigan, Texas A&M, and Rice. Home  games are played at Dan Law Field.
