College Baseball Poll – Vanderbilt #1

The college baseball poll had movement this week as Vanderbilt took a series win from South Carolina behind very strong pitching of Jack Leiter and Kumar Rocker.This is consecutive weekends the Commodores have beaten top 25 teams with Oklahoma State and South Carolina. Vanderbilt improves their overall record to 15-3.

The Arkansas Razorbacks dropped to the #2 position after a Friday blowout loss at home against Alabama. Rounding out the top 5 are Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Florida, all from the SEC.

Texas Tech grabs the 6th spot after winning a series against Oklahoma State. Notre Dame defeated Duke to notch the 14 spot and Pittsburgh is right behind them at 15 with a win over Virginia. The Oregon Ducks move four spots to #16 after a series win over Arizona State.

Florida State had a good week with wins over Florida and a three game sweep over Miami and is now sitting at #17 in the poll.

Louisiana Tech snared #23 in the poll with a road sweep at Tulane  and a blowout of Ole Miss earlier. North Carolina is at #24 with a series win over Boston College.

Virginia Tech, Boston College and UC Santa Barbara fell out of the rankings.
