Draft Prospect Robert Moore
Robert Moore is a baseball lifer and has been around the major leagues his entire life as his father was the former GM of the Kansas City Royals and is now President of Baseball Operation for the Royals Dayton Moore.
In 2020, Moore was playing in high school (Shawnee East Mission High School) and left early so he could get a start on a collegiate and professional career sooner. He removed himself from the draft and enrolled at the University of Arkansas.
Now he is one of the top college prospects in the upcoming draft. He is a switch hitting shortstop with average power and a short compact style swing. As a freshman in the 2020 COVID-19 shortened season he started all 16 games for the Razorbacks and Moore hit .317 with 20 hits, two home runs and 17 RBIs.
He is ranked in the Top 40 Prospects in the upcoming 2022 MLB draft and is likely to be about in the 30-35 pick range although he is behind Brooks Lee and Carter Young by most evaluators at his position. Some believe he will make a better second baseman in the majors.
