Top 25 College Baseball Results
#1- The Texas Longhorns are the top team in college baseball and they did nothing to put any doubts on that as they allowed 3 runs in days. It stated with 7-0 shutout over Texas based Rice Owls and then the Longhorns got out their bats and went to town with 15 runs in Game 2 and 14 more in the final game of the series.to complete the sweep and start 3-0 on the young season. Texas travels to Corpus Christi to face Texas A&M-CC on Tuesday and Wednesday They come home to entertain the Alabama Crimson Tide for a weekend series. Texas retains the #1 spot for next week,
#2- Arkansas Razorbacks began the season with a slip up to Missouri Valley opponent Illinois State Redbirds. Arkansas lost the opener 3-2. Then they came back with two wins 5-1 and 4-2 to salvage the series and finish 2-1 for the opening weekend. Friday they are home to face Indiana and Saturday they entertain the Stanford Cardinals. Sunday it is Louisiana on the schedule. Despite the one loss, Arkansas stays at #2 for another week.
#3- Vanderbilt Commodores lost their top two pitchers in Kumar Rocker and Jack Leiter and sure enough, they lost two game to Oklahoma State. Vandy won the opener 3-0 and lost the next two 4-4 and 7-5. Vanderbilt is sure to drop a bit.
#4 Mississippi State lost 2 and won 1 to Long Beach State by the scores of 2-0,13-3 and 12-4.
Ole Miss at #5 went 3-0 against Charleston Southern with three decisive wins.
Stanford Cardinals at #6 defeated Cal State Fullerton 1-0 and then lost 11-0 ang won 11-1 to go 1-1 on the weekend.
#7-Oklahoma State was the big winner as they defeated powerhouse Vanderbilt twice in three contests
