Top Prep Prospect- Mason Neville

Top Prep Prospect

Top Prep Prospect takes us to Nevada where we focus on speedy center fielder Mason Neville. He is a senior at Basic High School in Nevada and has made a college commitment to Arkansas to play baseball next season. But before he gets there, it is likely that he may hear his name late in the first round of the MLB  draft.

After the showcase season completed, Neville had this to say:

“The process is amazing, I am fortunate enough to be in this situation. I thank everyone who has been a part of the process so far. With that being said, you can’t think about it too much. I just try to go out there and play every game like it’s my last.”

At 6’3″ and 200 lbs, he shows an easy left handed wing that he can repeat each and every time. He is consistent and has clean mechanics and has the ability to power the ball into the gaps with plenty of power.

His above average speed finds he is capable of stealing a base or tracking down balls in the outfield. Scouts believe he will continue to play center at the next level. Scouts have little doubt he can barrel up a fastball. Now his focus must turn to recognizing the off speed pitch and centering it up on the bat.

It i likely that Mason Neville will need to decode if he wants to go professionally into baseball or take his offer from the University of Arkansas.
