Updated World Series Odds

World Series

All season long our eyes have been on the MLB World Series odds, but as you creep closer to the end of the season, all that seems to go out the window. With just four teams remaining after a grueling 162-game season and then some, the World Series odds look much different than they did just a month ago.

These odds have been compiled on Tuesday night right after the conclusion of game two of the ALCS between the Houston Astros and New York Yankees. With the season quickly coming to a close, let’s take a look at the updated World Series odds.

Heavyweights vs. the Underdogs

The 2022 MLB postseason–and the regular season, for that matter–has been all about the storylines. On the National League side of things, it has been full of chaos. Did you expect the top four seeds to be eliminated prior to the NLCS? You are lying if you answered yes. The NLCS without the Los Angeles Dodgers, Atlanta Braves, St. Louis Cardinals, and New York Mets feels wrong, but boy, is it fun.

In the AL, you have the top two teams remaining in the Houston Astros and New York Yankees. Through four games this postseason, the Astros are undefeated and look to be the favorites to win it all, but we have seen crazy things this month. Do not count out the San Diego Padres and the Philadelphia Phillies. This World Series can be won by any of these teams.

At this point, with only four teams remaining, there is not a clear underdog like there has been before. Even a potential Astros vs Padres/Phillies matchup does not feel that one-sided.

As of Tuesday night, here are the odds to win the World Series: Houston -120, San Diego +340, Philadelphia +380 and New York +1100.

Every game is pivotal, and you are losing valuable time the longer you wait. After the game two loss from the Yankees, the odds went from +600 to +1100. After game three of the NLCS, the odds will look much different as well. Now is the best time to bet on the World Series.

Best Bet to Win it All

There has to be a point in time where you stop believing in the Cinderella story. Once we get into the World Series, it is time to forget about the fairytale happily ever after ending. From the moment the Los Angeles Dodgers kicked the can, it seemed like the World Series winner was going to come from the AL.

We live in a world of sports betting where people want to have crazy bets with wild odds, so this puts some people between a rock and a hard place. The value is not necessarily there, but who cares. At the end of the day, you are making money. This postseason has lost bettors a lot of money for gambling on the favorites, but now is the best time to do it. With that being said, the best bet is to take the Houston Astros.

The odds could be Houston -500, and it would still be the right choice. If you are the gambler to think that no matter who you pick, you have a 25% chance of earning money, props to you, but this is the year of the Astros.

It seems like fans of MLB will always have sour feelings toward the Astros for reasons you all know, but the New York Yankees are an equally bad team to root for. Either way, it is hard to hope one of these teams wins, but money talks.
