The month of October has flown by, and just like that, it is World Series time. Now I know you did not bet on this outcome, but the Houston Astros will be battling the Philadelphia Phillies to see who is the best team in MLB. Yes, the No. 1 seed in the AL is going up against the No. 6 seed in the NL.

It is clear who the favorite is, but favorites do not matter at this point of the season. Look at the NL side of things; the underdog was dominant all month long. Houston is looking to do the impossible and have an immaculate postseason without losing a single game. Philadelphia, on the other hand, they are perfectly fine with being the underdog.

All of this is cool and all, but it is beside the point. During this article, we will dive into some of the players most likely to walk away with a World Series MVP award. Factors such as odds will be determined, but this article will focus more on some of the dark horses.

Phillies Players to Watch For

Everything about the NLCS was unexpected. When you have the lowest seeds from the division battling for a playoff spot, that is bound to be the case. The NLCS was nothing short of exciting, and Bryce Harper was a big reason why. Harper is looking to win the NLCS MVP and the World Series MVP, which would be an incredible feat.

There are two people who should be credited the most for this World Series birth. Going into October, outsiders did not expect much from the Phillies’ pitching staff. Aaron Nola and Zach Wheeler laughed at proving the entire world wrong. It is going to be hard for one of these guys to walk away with the award with two outings, but they really deserve a lot of credit.

Before we give away the best pick to win the MVP award, we are going to share a player who you should not bet on. Stay away from Kyle Schwarber. He is currently sitting at +1400 to win the award, but it is basically a home run or bust from Schwarber. The power hitter will be swinging for the fences, and against a great rotation, he will struggle.

Alec Bohm would be a great candidate to walk away with the award. He has been a pivotal piece of this title run for Philly. When Houston pitchers go up against guys like Harper, Bohm may not be the batter receiving the best pitches. That’s how the story goes, and that is how Bohm can win the MVP.

Astros Players to Watch For

This article is more for fun, but if you are betting, it is much safer to bet on a Houston Astros player to win the World Series MVP. With nearly 20 more wins in the regular season and zero losses in the postseason, Houston is well on their way to ending their remarkable season on top.

For the Astros, you should stay away from Kyle Tucker winning the award. Having only two hits in the ALCS, he is coming into the World Series on a slump.

Jose Altuve may be the best pick to be the MVP. This may come with some anger from the audience, but he has a big chip on his shoulder. All of America is essentially praying on his downfall, and he wants to prove them wrong. Expect a big series from the second basemen.
